Abstract | A generalized (simplified) version of Flood Control Resource Areas as delineated in Pima Prospers -- The 2015 Pima County Comprehensive Plan Update. Development in these areas should be avoided by transferring allowable densities to the non-affected portions of the development. This layer was simplified for improved display in Web mapping applications.
Known errors/qualifications | --One multipart polygon is used to delineate ALL Flood Control Resource Areas across entire County. This is done to improve the results of the 100 Parcel Attributes overlay process. --Source geometry (as shown in CPFCRSAR) has been generalized to simplify polygons and remove two-thirds of all vertices. This was done to improve draw times and the speed of analysis for Web mapping applications. Use even more care than with CPFCRSAR when comparing this layer to parcel boundaries. --Note: Due to the topography, geomorphology, and/or natural resources that are present, land may contain Flood Control Resource Areas. These Areas include FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas, known local-identified floodplains, Pima County Regulated Riparian Habitat, and other natural watercourses. Development in these areas should be avoided by transferring allowable densities to the non-affected portions of the development. --The Pima County Regional Flood Control District maintains and is responsible for interpreting the content of the area identified as Flood Control Resource Areas in this layer. For accurate delineation of boundaries and flood hazards associated with any specific location, please contact the District.

Lineage | --Original source data were generalized using Simplify Polygon tool, with the Point Remove algorithm and a tolerance value (maximum allowable offset) of 10 feet. This removed approximately two-thirds of the original vertices. (EG, 20151105)
