Installation Instructions:

1. Download Viewer—Download the Autodesk MapGuide® Viewer, Java™ Edition mgjava.jar file. Depending on the platform you are using, choose one of the following locations for downloading:

   Internet Explorer 5.x on Macintosh OS X

   • To allow all users of the computer to use the mgjava.jar extension put the file in /Library/Java/Extensions/.
   • To limit which users can use the mgjava.jar extension, put the file in the /Library/Java/Extensions/ directory inside the appropriate users’ home directories. That folder does not exist by default, so you may need to make it.

   If you are using a Netscape® browser, you might need to right-click one of the following locations, and then choose Save Target As to save the file.

   Netscape Navigator 4.7 on Sun Solaris™ 2.6 or 2.8

   • $home/.netscape/java/download

   Netscape Navigator® 4.7 on Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional (Power User) and Windows XP Pro

   • [Your Netscape directory]\Programs\Java\Download

   Internet Explorer 5.x or Netscape Navigator 6.x with Java Plug-in 1.3 on with Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional (Power User) and Windows XP Pro

   • [Your Java 2 Runtime Environment directory]\lib\ext
   • or [Your Java 2 SDK directory]\jre\lib\ext

2. Restart your browser—After Autodesk MapGuide Viewer is downloaded, exit and restart your Web browser.
