Resolving Pictometry Viewer Installation Problems

The Pictometry Viewer Installation or Upgrade page explains common installation problems. This page has more things to check if you need more help.

1. Be sure you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser.

2. Re-booting your computer is a good idea to see if that resolves the problem.

3. Portions of our advice for Autodesk MapGuide Viewer Compatibility Issues applies to the Pictometry Viewer as well. Substitute "Pictometry" for "MapGuide" as you read these items:
   • Your Internet Explorer security settings may be set too high.

   • The MapGuide Viewer ActiveX control may be disabled in Internet Explorer.

   • Your security software's settings may be set to something too restrictive.

4. While rarely necessary, you may also want to try uninstalling an old or partial Pictometry Viewer installation and do a fresh installation. The procedure for uninstalling the MapGuide Viewer applies to the Pictometry Viewer as well.
   • See Uninstalling the Autodesk MapGuide Viewer, substituting "Pictometry" for "MapGuide" as you read the MapGuide procedure. Note too that the Pictometry Viewer only works with Internet Explorer on Windows.
