Abstract		BOWLOG_M displays the habitat model developed for the Western burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia hyugaea) in the Town of Marana. See more information.
Known errors/qualifications		Overview of model input and assumptions: Owl prefers areas of low brush or clearing, but needs foraging habitat. Ag fields supply low brush, and Santa Cruz River is good foraging habitat. Areas of agriculture and development originally were removed from the model, but some areas of ag were added back as foraging habitat. Nesting/foraging habitat is generally closer to hte river. Expert opinion from a field survey by AGFD in Winter 2004 also added--some areas were added and removed per their requests.
