Abstract		The Regional Flood Control District has partnered with Tucson Audubon Society to co-sponsor a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers In-Lieu Fee (ILF) Program. The Program will provide compensatory mitigation for unavoidable impact to Water of the U.S. which result from activities authorized under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. Compensatory mitigation is achieved through implementation of projects that restore aquatic resource function to the Santa Cruz River Watershed. This layer shows the location of all active and proposed ILF Projects within Pima County. • “Active” - Project sites that have compensatory mitigation credits available for sale. • “Closed” - Project sites that have sold out of compensatory mitigation credits. • “Proposed Tier 1” - Proposed project sites that are considered high priority and will become active as the need to sell credits within the watershed arises. • “Proposed Tier 2” - Proposed project sites that could become active due to a) watershed needs (e.g., need a site in San Pedro sub-basin), or b) continuing need after closure of sites that have been mitigated and compensatory mitigation credits sold out, or c) land acquisition of sites with high restoration potential. • “Buffer” - An upland, wetland, and/or riparian area that protects and/or enhances aquatic resource functions associated with wetlands, rivers and streams from disturbances associated with adjacent land uses. The buffer is included in the Active Project Site acreage. - See more information.
