Abstract | MONLANDS is an aggregated subset of the natural preserves that Pima County owns and manages. The County conducts surveys on these lands pursuant to its requirements under the MSCP Section 10 Permit. This primarily involves the monitoring of permanent vegetation plots, although staff also record incidental observations and stream flow status. The plots are stratified by elevation and soil fragmentation and selected according to a cost of movement surface from the nearest access point per methods developed by the National Park Service. MONLANDS serves as the 'sampling frame' for the plot selection methods. See more information. | |
