Abstract		National Land Cover Database 2011 Land Cover, produced by MRLC (Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics Consortium). As with two previous NLCD land cover products NLCD 2011 keeps the same 16-class land cover classification scheme that has been applied consistently across the United States at a spatial resolution of 30 meters. NLCD 2011 is based primarily on a decision-tree classification of circa 2011 Landsat satellite data. Full metadata are included in the nlcd2011.img.xml or nlcd2011.html files located in the same path as the original maintenance format raster. The release in 2014 of amended versions of land cover for 2001, 2006, and 2011 was made to correct for unintended differences between the impervious dataset and the four land cover developed classes. This layer's purpose is only to provide a legend in MapGuide when the raster version is displayed. It does this by means of 15 very small polygons--located in the extreme southwest corner of the county and making them invisible to all but the most curious users--that each has a unique landcover class value that can be used for the legend. -- See more information.
