| Abstract | National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2019 Land Cover, produced by MRLC (Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics) Consortium. This dataset is part of the updated NLCD 2019 release. The NLCD provides nationwide data on land cover and land cover change at a 30m resolution with a 16-class legend based on a modified Anderson Level II classification system. NLCD 2019 offers 8 integrated epochs of land cover for years 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2016, and 2019. Developed classes in these years are directly derived from and updated following the impervious surface cycle. Full metadata are included in the nlcd2019.img.xml file located in the same path as the maintenance format file. -- See more information. | |
| Known errors/qualifications | Following procedures from the 2016 Landcover layer, the decision was once again made to refrain from reprojecting this dataset into the County's standard NAD83 HARN projection. Since pixels were therefore not resampled, they represent the exact area on the ground that the original satellite sensor collected. | |
