Descriptive nameProtected Lands of Pima County
File namepreserve
Spatial domainPima County
AbstractPRESERVE displays parcels and land units that are managed for the preservation of biological values. These parcels and land units incur varying levels of protection and are owned by a variety of public and private entities. In some cases, the owner and manager are not the same. Also, the maintenance of biological values may not be the only stewardship component for a parcel or land unit (e.g., the multiple use mandate for Forest Service lands).

Note, this layer also currently contains certain properties acquired for the protection of cultural resources. These parcels do not represent all the properties Pima County has acquired for cultural resource protection, only those which are likely to be managed for retention of natural soil and vegetation cover. See SLM for a more complete list of cultural resource properties.

PRESERVE attribution includes, but is not limited to: owner, manager, GAP status, funding source, acquisition date, and responsible Pima County department if applicable.

For the current set of lands that are eligible to serve as Section 10 mitigation, see the layer SCT10MIT.

- See more information.
Known errors/qualificationsSome parcels have been clipped to preserve area boundaries. Therefore valuations and other parcel attributes that apply to the entire parcel may not be appropriate for parcels that are clipped in this layer.

All DM Urban Encroachment parcels have been moved to dm_os, 10-13-2010.
