Abstract | TALUS40D replaces TALUS as a Special Element on SDCP MapGuide. It shows all areas where slopes are greater than 40 degrees on bedrock. Slope values were generated from the terrain dataset 'TERRAIN08_10FTDEM_HYDRO'. Slopes greater than 40 degrees were extracted and converted to smoothed polygons. The result was clipped to areas of bedrock and dissolved into a single multipart feature. This layer overestimates potential habitat for talus snails. A chief purpose of this layer is to illustrate to County staff where incidental observations might occur. | |
