Regarding the status of
proposed health facilities in hlth_fac layer, the
below is the e-mail response from Pima County Department of Institutional
Health on July 2010.
U of A Bioscience Park and JTED: This park
will be located on the corner of 36th
Street and Kino Parkway The land is currently being
graded, but there is no building structure yet.
We haven’t confirmed that JTED will still be included in the Biosciences Park.
The original proposal included JTED.
Pima Community College and Posada del Sol: These two buildings were part of a
2008 Bond Proposal. This proposal was
presented to the bond committee in Feb 2008, but has not proceeded any further
and bond funds have not been voted on or awarded to build these
structures. These buildings were both
proposed to be located at 2800 E. Ajo Way.
Northwest Medical Center: Northwest owns this land but has
informed us they are not planning on building the hospital in the near
future. The hospital location was
planned for W. Moore and I-10 Frontage Rd.
Carondelet Health
Network (2
Buildings) -
1. I-10 and S. Colossal Cave Road – This is the planned area for the Passages Project
- Carondelet Health Network continues to
be the provider of choice for the developer of Passages but given the timing
and the current economic situation, there has been no further development of
this project. If, in the future,
Passages actually begins development, it is the intent of Carondelet Health
Network to continue to partner with the developer but do not anticipate
anything in the next several years.
There are no formal plans at this time.
2. Sahuarita Road & La Villita
Road – Sahuarita –
Carondelet Health Network continues to work closely with the Town of Sahuarita and the citizens of Sahuarita and Green
Valley in the development
of a health care facility on property that Carondelet owns at this
location. These plans are currently in
the early development stage and although highly unlikely a full service
hospital will be developed in the near future, Carondelet Health Network is
committed to the development of a destination center to continue to meet the
healthcare needs of the residents of these two communities.
